    Hi all,
I am installing LSB 2.x for the first time in a while. I had some problems so I removed all of the SQL Server components and started again. It installed ok but now I am having a few problems.

I went to the download page and thought I was downloading 2.1.22 but when I check the version number under the help menu I get 2.1.13.25980, is this right?

When it installed it seemed to have imported some things from 1.x but not very much. No services and only a handful of my worship resources. When I run the converter to re-import it fails with:
    Opening modules...
    Looking for user.mdb...
    user.mdb found.
    Opening user.mdb...
    Converting User Elements...
HandoffException: Violation of UNIQUE KEY constraint 'UQ__ModuleWordIndex__07F6335A'. Cannot insert duplicate key in object 'dbo.ModuleWordIndex'.
    The statement has been terminated.

Sometimes, when I go from selecting a service to looking at the elements in the service the screen doesn't repaint properly. One time when it did this the calendar screen was underneath the select services and the next screen (I don't know the name of it but it allows you to go item by item through the service)When the calendar screen was partially visible the headings at the top of the columns were messed up.

Finally, when I get this up and running I want to share the database. Are the instructions available yet?

    Thanks,

    Don

  2. Yes; the Installer still downloads and installs 2.1.13, but you should be able to run the CPH Software Updater in your Start menu and update your installation of Builder to 2.1.22.

When you update your installation of Builder to 2.1.22, please attempt to re-convert your Builder 1 user database by going to the Help menu and running the appropriate command.

Detailed instructions for networking databases are not yet available, but we can walk you through the process over email or even in this forum thread (which will basically write the docs for us).

Do you have the computer available that will function as the "server"?

I must be doing something wrong. If I try and update from the help menu, it doesn't seem like anything happens. If I try from the Start menu, I get a message that says cphupd.1.0.0002.msi is missing. That file is not on my system. I tried reinstalling LSB2 but it made no difference.

    Thanks,

    Don

  4. It is attempting to update the CPH Software Updater, but it looks like the Windows Installer isn't able to locate your original installation package.

Are you able to uninstall the CPH Software Updater?

I uninstalled the updater and LSB2 and reinstalled LSB2 and I was able to update to 2.1.22.18571. I still get the error when importing from LSB 1.x.

    Opening modules...
    Looking for user.mdb...
    user.mdb found.
    Opening user.mdb...
    Converting User Elements...
HandoffException: Violation of UNIQUE KEY constraint 'UQ__ModuleWordIndex__07F6335A'. Cannot insert duplicate key in object 'dbo.ModuleWordIndex'.
    The statement has been terminated.

Yes I have a machine to act as a server and will work with you either via email or the forum to set it up as a server.

    Thanks,

  6. Don,

I'm going to work on getting a new bootstrapper up with updated installers and will advise you on the network install at that time.

Has Builder been installed on that server computer yet? (If not, don't do so until I get the new one up, if you please.)

  7. Don,

The first step is going to be installing Builder on that server itself. I've updated the installer on the Downloads page, so please grab the new one and give it an install. It is lsb2_2123_1017.exe.

Once you've got Builder up and running on the server computer, let me know and we'll move ahead with the other machines on the network.

    Don,

I think it's fairly likely that SQL is confused about your user database. Do you have any services in that database that you need? Or is all your vital information in your 1.x databases? (We might be able to resolve the problem by deleting the user database and having Builder recreate it.)

    Bob,
I'm not sure of what you mean, I haven't used the 2.x, I am just trying to set it up right now. The 1.x is working ok, I just can't import it into 2.x.

    Ryan,
I may have confused you. The server is my workstation and I want SQLserver running with the DB on my machine and my secretary using this db also.

    Bob and Ryan,
Should I now uninstall LSB 2.x and SQLserver and reinstall using the new bootstrap loader?

    THANKS,

    Don

  10. Don,

Can you give me a call so we can work through some stuff on this?

  11. Don,

Please attempt to reinstall Builder using this Installer:

    http://cphdev.com/downloads/2.0/lsb.2.1.0025.msi

Please let us know how it goes. Apologies that it took this long to get it to you.

    Ryan,
I removed LSB 2.x, I didn't remove the sqlserver or the installer, and installed the file mentioned above. I am now running 2.1.25.26865. When I tried to reimport my 1.x data I got:
    Opening modules...
    Looking for user.mdb...
    user.mdb found.
    Opening user.mdb...
    Converting User Elements...
HandoffException: Violation of UNIQUE KEY constraint 'UQ__ModuleWordIndex__07F6335A'. Cannot insert duplicate key in object 'dbo.ModuleWordIndex'.
    The statement has been terminated.

Do I have to clean the db as we spoke of on the phone?

    Let me know.

  13. Yes; let's clean that database.

Go to Start > All Programs > Concordia Publishing House > Lutheran Service Builder 2 > Database Repair Tool.

There is a new "Utilities" menu there. In it there should be a command labeled "Delete User Database". We'd like you to do that and then run Builder and attempt to re-import your Builder 1 data.

Allow me to make clear that this will wipe any saved services or elements from your Builder 2 database, but at this point we don't believe that there's any other option to avoid the problem you are seeing and our understanding from the communication thus far is that wiping it is going to be OK.

That seemed to work. But... I now have the elements I have created, I have the service modifications, and some services I created under 1.x are highlighted in the calendar. But I can't seem to open a service that was created under 1.x. I click on it in the calendar and I get the box asking if I want to create the service from scratch or I can edit the bulletin but it only contains the stuff from the default Divine Service, in my case #4. When I try and edit the bulletin, at the bottom it says I don't have permissions to use the Gloria in Excelsis, the Sanctus and the Agnus Dei.
I think I am now in the realm of user error, help.

    Thanks,

    Don

  15. Are you clicking on the calendar cell for the day, or the name of the service in the calendar cell (which should be in bold)?

Each action will create a different result.

Ryan, It doesn't seem to make any difference. I started looking and although the converter said it imported 89 services and converted them, I can't find them. The only services I have in bold are the ones I tried opening since this started working this afternoon. I am going to try and reboot my system and see if that helps but any insight is appreciated.

    THANKS,

    Don

  17. I don't think a reboot is going to solve the issue, but how far back should the services be that you imported from LSB 1?

I didn't think it would either but my memory footprint was getting large, btw it didn't help. I'm not sure of your question, is it philosophical, then it should import all of them. Right now I'm not convinced it did any because I can't look at them and see any customizations; communion or not, hymns etc.

  19. When you create a new service, is Builder displaying for you a list of the liturgies from which you can choose?

Yes, I think I can create a new service just fine, I just can't see any of my old ones. (I did try and reimport and it says it imports them but I can't see them.)
