  1. Is there any progress on optionally removing the "dead line" in bulletin output?

    I'm not aware of the "dead line". What is it?

  3. Rick;
    The LSBuilder output for Word puts a blank line in between every line of text. This makes managing the output using style sheets impossible as the blank line is always present. If you want less space you have to either delete every blank line (by hand) or set the point size of every blank line. Styles give you much more control over the spacing, and are congruent with the way Word is designed to work.

    Some folks like the blank lines, I think they are a pain.

    Now I understand and I agree totally. In fact, I wrote a macro that, among many other things, removes the dead lines from the file. I also agree with you regarding styles. I use Word's styles to the fullest extent possible to control text and paragraph formatting, text flow, and the like.

  5. Rick;
    would you be willing to share the Macro with me?

    LSB is a great program and I couldn't do what I do without it. There are just a few annoyances that trouble me. This blank line issue is one. It seems to get a deaf ear.

    Hey guys,

    Sorry to have kept silent so long. We're not deaf here in Emerging Products, we're just drowning! :) I hear a lot of people talking about the 'dead line' and styles. I think using styles is a great idea and I'm sad that Builder impedes that a little. I'm hoping for an opportunity to work on another feature bundle for LSB this summer.

    :) I don't think there's anything to forgive --- but I gladly would!

    I'm sorry that we haven't managed all this as excellently as we could. We've got a lot of projects in the works (which is exciting; and I think you'll like them) but I'm the only programmer in-house and am spread a little too thin. Happily, we are hiring!

  10. Deadlines--BAAAADDD, Styles--GOOOODD

    I see its been a year ago since the last post on this so I thought I would reintroduce the topic. I've also noticed that sometimes "hard returns" (enter) are being used where "soft returns" (shft-enter)should be placed in places like psalms, prayers, creeds. etc., which spreads them out over the page as well. By fixing the dead lines and hard/soft returns much time and heartache could be saved by the end-users.
