Missing Chant Tone for Biblical Canticles

  1. Its been a while since I checked in here!

I'm working out a service where I am using a Biblical Canticle. I noticed the refrain makes it into the bulletin, but the chant tone does not. This will be an issue for those who have not sung the "Song of Hannah" before.

We've been using the hymnal more and more, so this normally would not be an issue. However, the service I am working on needs to be printed out. Thanks, in advance, for your time. And blessed Holy Week.

    Andrew,
Unfortunately this is something that is missing from the program currently.
We look forward to including this functionality in the future. Sorry for the inconvenience.
    Blessings on your Holy Week.

  3. Well... the chant tone is kind of an important part of the song. Should I tell my secretary that we'll work around it by scanning the hymnal into the computer or, will this be included in an update soon (like the Gloria Patri for the Psalms)?

  4. ...A possible work around
If you are using a Word processor to edit your bulletin before publishing...
1 You could try entering a random Psalm before the Canticle
2 then choose the Psalm tone corresponding to the one needed in the Canticle.
3 Go back and delete the Psalm text and you have your tone left in the draft.
4 You can then drag that Psalm tone graphic to where you needed it in the order.
PS This worked for me in both Word and Powerpoint when I ran across this problem for the Good Friday Tenebrae Canticle. Hope this helps.

Just to clarify, Builder does support the majority of the Biblical Canticles. It is only the 925-929 Canticles which have Chant Tones that are currently not fully supported. Thanks for the work around Ken, that will help for 928 which uses Chant Tone K. For the others you would still have to scan in the Chant Tone. The Builder team will be working on a solution for this in the near future.
