Several hymns in LSB have alternate tunes listed in the pew edition. For many, the tune selected to be printed (and published in Builder) is the less familiar. Being able to print the melody line for the alternate tune would be nice.

We are unfortunately not able to do this (at least at this time) for both copyright and technical reasons.

I was thinking about those tunes in public domain, like 334 - O Lord, How Shall I Meet You. The alternate tune listed at the bottom of the page is VALET WILL ICH DIR GEBEN, which is already in the hymnal and is in public domain. Both tunes were printed in TLH, and the alternate is the only tune my congregation has ever sung to these words. Some have complained when I change tunes and don't reprint the hymn with the alternate tune.
I can fully understand the technical mess this could create.

Each melody line is crafted to match the syllables and the text underneath - there are rarely any strict metrical melody lines in the whole of Lutheran Service Builder.
If we were to mix-and-match melody lines, you would very often have words that didn't lie underneath the tone for the appropriate beat/syllable.
What you suggest would require re-working any hymn with an alternate tune selected to have a melody line for each tune in order for the final product to be of quality.
