What file formats are supported by Lutheran Service Builder’s bulletin output features?
Lutheran Service Builder features built-in support for the following file formats:
- Microsoft Word 2007 (.docx)
- Rich Text Format (.rtf)
- HyperText Markup Language (.html)
Versions of Microsoft Word from 2000 through 2003 are supported through either the use of Rich Text files or the use of the Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack for Word, Excel, and PowerPoint 2007 File Formats, which is a free download available from Microsoft. We recommend using Office 2007 (or 2008 for Mac).
WordPerfect users of versions 11 through X3 should default to using Rich Text files for output. WordPerfect X4 includes built-in support for Office 2007 (.docx) file formats, and is our recommended version of WordPerfect.
My congregation uses Microsoft Publisher. Will your files work with Publisher?
We make every effort to make the files exported by Lutheran Service Builder as universal and compatible as possible. Microsoft Publisher users should be able to import Builder-created Rich Text files or open those files in Word and cut-and-paste the material from one application to another. Builder 2.0 has been designed to reduce the amount of re-formatting necessary to create a well-formed and attractive bulletin using Microsoft Publisher.
If you are encountering specific difficulties using Publisher with Builder 2.0 or later, please file a support request, and we will contact you for additional information to assist us in improving your experience with Builder files and Publisher.
