You can “repair” your hymnal database to stop this from occurring. We have recently patched the update process specifically for this purpose.

Go to your Start menu, then to All Programs, then Concordia Publishing House, then Lutheran Service Builder 2. Run the command “Database Repair Tool.”

In the window that appears, check only the database marked cph_lsb_hymnal, then continue to re-download the hymnal database from the server. You will later need to reinstall any updates made since the master copy was last updated, but the more recent updater will be able to handle them properly.

Please contact us further if you encounter any additional problems or have any additional questions.
I am still carrying a March 30 Update. I have "downloaded" it more than once, yet everyone time I open LSB software it keeps coming up for download. What do I do?

Please read this forum topic for information on how to clear the problem with the Updater patch.

There will sometimes be differences between the LSB lectionaries and the ESV print Bibles, as the ESV has been "updated" since the publication of LSB. That's not the only location where something is a bit different. There is no intention at this time of updating the lectionaries to match the updated ESV text.

Recently tried to install a patch number 1.0.16. This patch failed to install with a message "This patch package could not be opened. Check to see if this is a valid Windows Installer patch package". Please tell me how to fix this so I can install the patch.

Also, LSB has an incorrect verse in Acts 3:11 The first line is different in the ESV Bible than it is in LSB. Thought you would want to know.

I followed the instructions in the Forum to bypass this problem, and everything worked great. I am now updated to version 2.1.22.18571. Thank you.

I have not been able to open the Installer CPH Software Updater version 1.0.16. When I try to run it, a window pops up that says "This patch package could not be opened. Contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer patch package."
I did not check at the LSB Forum to see if there is direction on what to do, but I will now.

Before you change anything, please send us a system report from your installation so we can see what happened. You can find the utility in Start > All Programs > Concordia Publishing House > Lutheran Service Builder 2 > Submit a System Report.

Let's have you delete the patches you downloaded and try again. There's a folder on your computer where we keep the updates. It's here:

C:\\Documents and Settings\\All Users\\Application Data\\Concordia Publishing House\\Lutheran Service Builder 2

Delete the entire folder labeled "patches" and then run the Updater again. See if that solves the problem and let us know what happens.

(If you can't find the folder I mentioned above, you will have to turn on the display of hidden files and folders on your system. You can find this control in any folder window. Simply click on the Tools menu and then the Folder Options command to find the control. You'll be able to locate the switch to turn on hidden folders from there.)

My CPH Software Update has run into problems on my XP operating system. I haven't updated in a while, so I had updates 18 through 22 in my queue, and the Software Update had to shut itself down. When I reopened, the update told me that "some updates did not download correctly." What do I do now?
